TCP Acknowledgment Optimization in Low Power and Embedded Devices

Paper investigates transport control protocol (TCP) acknowledgment (ACK) optimization in low power or embedded devices to improve their performance on high-speed links by limiting the ACK rate. Today dominant for interconnecting network is TCP and it has a great influence entire operation if processing of exhausted data from stack. Therefore, not congested networks bottleneck no longer link but low-processing devices. A new algorithm been developed implemented Linux kernel. Proposed stack modification minimizes unneeded technical expenditure flow reducing number ACKs. The results performed experiments show that rate leads noticeable decrease CPU utilization an increase session throughput does impact other QoS parameters, such as stability, control, connection management, congestion compromises security. more resources low-power could be allocated transfer.
